Client software or a special browser is not required by the system.

Features of marginalia annotation system

The passages in the HTML text can be highlighted by the user. The annotations are written in the margins that are adjacent to the highlighted text. The web annotations are allowed to overlap. When the cursor is under either of the note which was highlighted both of notes light up. Every user has a specific annotation. This feature of specification is useful in the system like Moodle version.

By using annotations the hyperlinks can be associated with the passages in the text. The annotations can be made in free form. The summary page displays the annotation made by the user and also the text highlighted in the passages. It can display all the annotations of the current user. The annotations of other users can be displayed for a paragraph by clicking on that part of the paragraph in the passage. In case of any problem in the software the Moodle system warns about it.
